Doom 3: Resurrection of Evil (expansion pack)

I bought Doom 3 in 2004 or 2005 for XBOX and now I've got in on PC and the expansion pack called Resurrection of Evil. It's a great addition to the original game. It would be more accurate to call it a totally new game, as far as the levels and difficulty, but you get mostly the same bunch of weapons as in the first one. This game is so scary, I actually don't play it as much as I could. Like one reviewer has said, "It's very conducive to the player yelling obscenities at the screen." One cool thing is this weird alien artifact that allows you to slow down time and kick major ass like in The Matrix. Also there's this cool weapon/tool called the Grabber that is like the gravity gun from Half Life. Using it is the only way to beat the first boss, a crazy, legless, flying demon that comes out of a portal to Hell and throws fireballs at you until you die. He seemed inpervious to all attacks and I went through about 10 lives trying to kill him, until I just stuck with the grabber gun and shot his own fireballs back at him and the blasts from the 2 automatic mounted cannons in the room about 5-6 times. It's a trip and fun and exciting and everything...but like I said, the game is freaking SCARY!

I am not much into PC Gaming. Prefer to stick to gaming systems like Nintendo and X-Box. The 360 did come out with an updated version of Doom 3 that I just purchased a couple of weeks ago. Had a chance to play it for only a few minutes It had very nice graffics and I agree it was like a totally new game compared to its' predecesor.

The 360 is a new system for me. Less than 6 months but it is a great system even for those who can't remember what buttons to hit. It was a choice between the WII and the 360 for me. I got the 360 thinking everything will come out on it and then Resident Evil 6, I highly reccomend ALL of the Resident Evil games, comes out on the WII. It is not even on the schedule to be released on the 360 or Cube. UGH!!!

Yeah, I love the Resident Evil Games. I've played them all except for Code: X and Code: Veronica. Nintendo cornered the Resident Evil market with Gamecube licenses several years ago. There were some Gamecube exclusive releases that I thought were way cool. Resident Evil 4 is one of the best games ever, but I got frustrated with it because my current computer can't quite handle it. (It's now on Wii, PS2 and PC.) RE5 (much like RE4) and RE Umbrella Chronicles (more of a 1st person shooter) are going to be Wii also, but will likely be ported to PC and maybe one of the other consoles later. I'm currently trying to decide between the 3 new console systems out there right now. It's a tough choice.
